Chemiluminescence: Student Activity
kit #701A
Using this Lab-Aid, students conduct a series of simple, safe and dramatic activities that produce light energy (chemiluminescence). They are introduced to an oxidation-reduction reaction as well as rates of reaction.
Students also calculate the ratios of chemicals used in the reaction and the effects of temperature on chemiluminescence. Students working in teams use calibrated tubes and the Lab-Aids® environment cups to complete the activity. Easy-to-follow instructions are provided. This Lab-Aid is designed for 16 groups of 2-student teams.
- Demonstrate oxidation-reduction reaction
- Observe rates of reaction, ratios of chemicals used and effects of temperature on chemiluminescence
- Explain chemistry of nature
