Simple Stain Kit for Plant Tissue
This simple procedure permits students to obtain impressive results in differentiating many cell types and tissue structures. It provides excellent discrimination among structures with a high density of different cell types such as root tip or bud. Students hand-cut, mount and stain a section of material. Their observations become more meaningful since they provide their own specimens. Almost any fresh plant material can be used to complete this activity.
